Michael Shensky

Michael Shensky is the GIS and Geospatial Data Coordinator for the Libraries at the University of Texas at Austin. He has a BA and MA in Geography from California State University, Fullerton and over a decade of professional GIS experience. Michael started at UT Austin in 2018 after spending 5 years as a lecturer and GIS lab manager at California State University, Long Beach where he taught courses focused on geospatial techniques, digital cartography, and enterprise GIS development. In his current role at UT he assists members of the university community who are engaged in geospatial research by providing consultative services, designing GIS training materials, leading technical workshops, and by developing geospatial data management solutions to enhance discoverability of the UT Libraries’ geospatial datasets.
